We can make rain but no one came to ask (2006) ) is a film collage which supposedly originated in collaboration with the state chief investigator of car bomb detonations and a photo journalist in Lebanon. Joined are pictures of urban panoramas, bomb craters, house ruins, corpses, store fronts etc. – that are abstracted to a visual white hissing (in Close up?), swallowing everything. The strangely elusive, from irritating sound intervals and disconcerting silence underfed sequences spread a vague-oppressive mood which runs counter to the documentary moment of the work. The media processing, as can be concluded, does not capture the real dying and the destructions that happen daily in crisis areas and war zones.
